The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a hearing to interview Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford on Monday.
The announcement of the hearing comes just a day after Christine Blasey Ford came forward publicly with allegations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in high school.
Kavanaugh has denied the allegations. The letter, which Sen. Dianne Feinstein had kept from committee members, was referred to the FBI on Thursday.
The FBI added "the information" to the Supreme Court nominee's background file and sent it to the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is also expected to have been sent to the White House.
