Tom Warren
Investigative Reporter
Tom Warren came to journalism after working in construction and agriculture, and in 2014 he won the UK award for New Journalist of the Year. In his five years at BuzzFeed News, he has focused on financial corruption, policing and national security, and human rights, most notably in the series he and Katie Baker reported about WWF, the international conservation charity. In 2020 he was a key player on FinCEN Files, the exploration of thousands of secret government finance documents that BuzzFeed News carried out in conjunction with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and 108 newsrooms around the world.
Tom says he's drawn to investigative reporting because "It’s fun! Not only does it serve the public interest but it’s like doing a Rubix cube on a high wire — challenging and high risk at the same time."
