It’s no secret that Sophie Turner had a pretty difficult 2023, with the British actor enduring a pretty high profile — and seriously messy — split from her husband, Joe Jonas, after four years of marriage.
In case you missed it, the breakup caught pretty much everybody off guard, with Sophie herself claiming in legal paperwork that the first she heard about her divorce was when she read about it in the news.
Joe also sparked fierce backlash when source quotes attributed to his camp constantly dunked on Sophie in the press. Insiders suggested that Sophie was an unfit mom who partied too hard, despite the evidence that proves neither of these claims was true.

While Sophie and her camp maintained a dignified silence in public, legal filings later alleged that Joe had “abducted” their children as she requested the “immediate return” of their daughters to England.
Joe denied these claims, and Sophie appeared to lean on her friends to help her through the whole thing, including Joe’s ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Taylor and Joe briefly dated way back in 2008, with Joe rather famously ending the relationship in a 25-second phone call after three months.
Despite past animosity between the exes, Taylor and Joe appeared to make amends in recent years and many believe that this was due to Sophie’s self-proclaimed Swiftie status.
And soon after news of Joe and Sophie’s divorce was confirmed, Taylor made it clear who she was backing as she was pictured stepping out to dinner with Sophie in New York City.
The two looked incredibly cozy as they linked arms while walking through the streams of fans who’d gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars.
The following month, Taylor invited Sophie to join her and the rest of her squad of famous pals to watch her boyfriend's, Travis Kelce, football game from a VIP suite.
And on Tuesday, Sophie shared a candid photo from this very outing to her Instagram page as she reflected on the past year in an incredibly brief comment to her 14 million followers.
Sharing a carousel of photos of herself with her female friends, Sophie alluded to her and Joe’s split as she wrote: “2023 was the year of the girlies. 2024s forecast is looking fairly consistent.”
The caption was short but spoke volumes, and many fans were left delighted by this insight into how Sophie appears to be coping post-split.
One follower commented: “I guess the post break up glow is common for all women.” While another added: “Those are the beat [sic] years 😊 Shine on Sophie!!”
And one more concluded: “The GIRLS have got u and that’s all u need ❤️❤️❤️”
