Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole has opened up about where she stands with Brittany Mahomes.
For those who aren’t aware, Kayla found herself at the center of public attention earlier this month after eagle-eyed Instagram users noticed that she’d unfollowed her longtime close friend Brittany and Brittany’s husband, Patrick Mahomes.
While she was dating Travis on and off between 2017 and 2022, Kayla got incredibly close with Brittany — to the point that she was a bridesmaid at the Mahomes’s wedding last March.

And even after she and Travis split for good a couple of months after the wedding, Kayla appeared to remain great friends with Brittany.
However, fans recently theorized that things had gotten a little rocky behind the scenes after noticing that Kayla has unfollowed Brittany, who has spent the past few weeks making a series of public appearances with Travis’s apparent new girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Brittany joined Taylor and her entire entourage for lavish girls’ nights across New York, while the singer has made regular appearances in the Mahomes’s suite at various Chiefs games. Earlier this week, in fact, the duo were filmed debuting their own secret handshake as they cheered on Travis and Patrick at Arrowhead Stadium.
And it was right after Brittany and Taylor stepped out for a meal earlier this month that internet users noticed Kayla had hit the unfollow button beside both Brittany and Patrick’s accounts.
Of course, this immediately prompted speculation that Kayla and Brittany had fallen out behind the scenes. But now, Kayla is clearing the air, revealing that she and Brittany have had several “conversations” in private on the matter.
Speaking with People this week, Kayla began, “I do think it's important to publicly address this because I did publicly unfollow people. The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made.”
“That's a lot of history and friendship there, that doesn't change overnight,” Kayla said. “But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That's really all that is. The love is still there.”
Kayla went on to add that she has to “move forward” with her life, after spending plenty of time in Kansas City while she was dating Travis.
“I still love my KC people and my KC community so much,” she said. “But for me in my life, I have to move forward and everyone has to respect that. And hopefully when they respect that, that means that they're no longer inserting me into things that do not involve me.”
