Fishermen spotted the whales, several of which had beached themselves, on Tuesday night. They're in shallow water in the Everglades National Park.
There are 41 stranded whales. Six more were found dead, and four others had to be put down.
They are in a remote area near Highland Beach, the western boundary of the park and about 20 miles east of where they normally live.
It's a very difficult situation [...] Even in high tide, you're going to have a series of sandbars and sand flats.
