McCain's top economic adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, was asked what the candidate did as chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee that broadened his understand of the U.S.'s financial structure. "He did this," Holtz-Eakin answered, lifting up his BlackBerry. "[Y]ou're looking at the miracle John McCain helped create and that's what he did."
