...Is actually Natasha Lloyd, an actress who is not pregnant, that was paid by Baby Ballot to fake the whole thing.
Baby Ballot's founder Lacey Moler told TODAY:
"We came up with the idea for the contest and we knew it would be controversial... But we're a start-up and we wanted to control the situation."
So the company behind the contest decided to hire an actress to play the mother that would allow the internet to name their baby.
According to Natasha Lloyd's website, she's been in a slew of TV shows, stage productions, and commercials. Even though the hoax was exposed, Baby Ballot confirmed that the actress was still being paid for her services.
As for why a website would think that was a good idea, well, that's still a mystery.
