A Georgia Teenager Was Allegedly Shot By Police After Answering The Door While Holding A Wii Remote

Christopher Roupe was shot point-blank in the chest by police after he answered the door Friday.

This is Christopher Roupe, a 17-year-old from a suburb of Atlanta, Ga. Christopher was active in his high school's ROTC and had plans of joining the Marines after graduation.

Last Friday, police officers came to the trailer park where his family lives to serve Christopher's father with a warrant for violating his probation.

That's when Christopher was shot in the chest by a female officer. She allegedly mistook the Wii remote that Christopher was holding for a gun, according to the family's attorney.

Witnesses said that officer was seen crying after she fired the shot. She has since been put on administrative leave.

Christopher was pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital. The shooting is currently under investigation and Christopher's family has filed a lawsuit against the police department.
