MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Television personality RuPaul, unlike Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, has no opinion on whether or not we should abolish the Federal Reserve.
RuPaul is on a publicity tour of New Hampshire in the run-up to the primary with the pretext of clearing up confusion about the similarity of his name to Congressman Paul's.
BuzzFeed asked if he would end the Fed. "I'm not here for politics," he said. "I'm here to spread love and dispel the confusion."
He did not address what his policies would be on foreign intervention, particularly with regard to Israel. "Are you for real?" he asked. "Are you for real? Well, I am too. I'm not here to talk about that." RuPaul doesn't share Ron Paul's affinity for gold (though he owns some gold jewelry) and has never attended a Ron Paul event.
RuPaul is not a libertarian, but "a lover," he said. He voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and does not plan to vote in the Republican primary in California.
As for whether he would ever consider a presidential run: "No, what I do is much more interesting."
