A Colorado Man Posted A Selfie With His Infant Daughter On Facebook Right Before Shooting Her

Merrick McKoy posted "Don't judge me had no choice" before allegedly shooting his 19-month-old daughter and himself. His daughter, Mia, was killed.

Nineteen-month-old Mia was the daughter of Merrick McKoy, 22, and Kimphone 'Kim' Phanthavongsa, 21, who had recently broken up.

The New York Daily News reported that Kimphone (pictured above) told Westminster police that she woke up Monday morning to Merrick – with whom she had recently broken up – standing over her, in her apartment, with a gun. They then had a heated argument which ended with Kimphone storming out.

Kimphone called police at 9:35 a.m. Monday morning, reporting that Merrick was inside her apartment with their infant daughter and a handgun.

Westminster Police in Colorado heard gunshots from within the apartment when they arrived at the scene.

Before the incident, Merrick posted several ominous updates on his Facebook account.

It is being assumed that this was addressed to Mia's mother, Kimphone.

Kimphone had a restraining order against Merrick following a past domestic violence incident.

Family members told Denver's ABC News 7 that Mia was unconscious when paramedics rushed her to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Merrick was taken to a different hospital and authorities have yet to release his condition.
