Driver Leaps From Moving Car After Seeing Spider, Causing Crash With Bus

After an Indiana mother dove out of her car in fear of a spider, her son tried to stop the moving vehicle, but instead pressed the gas pedal and hit a passing bus.

An Indiana woman leapt from her moving car after spotting a spider on her shoulder, leading to a crash that injured her son, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said.

Her 9-year-old son was in the backseat and climbed into the driver's seat to try to stop the car. Instead, he pressed on the gas pedal, sending the car into a passing school bus.

The boy was taken to the local hospital where he was treated for minor head injuries. The driver of the bus was not injured, and there were no passengers inside at the time of the accident.

Angela Kipp, 35, was backing out of a driveway Friday when she saw the spider and jumped from her moving car. It was not reported what type of spider she saw.
