Recordings of the 911 calls from the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting were released Wednesday after a lengthy appeal by the Connecticut state's attorney not to make the tapes public.

Last week, a Connecticut judge ruled in favor of The Associated Press, which challenged the objections of prosecutors to release the recordings citing the Freedom of Information Act.

The 911 calls, while chilling and disturbing in context, reveal both dispatchers and callers remaining calm during the ordeal.

Last week, the state's attorney released a 48-page report, offering a detailed sequence of events and newly released information about Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza.
