How Not to Announce Your Tech Product

There's no worse time to make a tech announcement than on the day of an Apple event. Here are 13 companies that are doing it anyway.

Verizon, an Apple partner, would not like you to know that it has "recently activated new 4G LTE service in Harvard, Massachusetts."

Dell would not like you to know how it "helped Insteel Industries, Inc. improve IT Efficiency."

SceneTap, which makes an iOS app, would not like you to know about its finalist nomination in the Social Media Category at SXSW.

Penguin Computer definitely would not like you to know about the "immediate availability of the company’s new Intel-based product portfolio."

Planar, a display company, would not like you to know that it has taken "outdoor digital signage to extremes."

Nintendo would not like you to know that it "celebrated family fun."

NCR, the ATM company, would not like you to know that it will help LegacyTexas Bank "ensure optimal uptime and performance of [its] ATMs."

Getac, a tablet company, would almost certainly not like you to know about the new Z710 rugged Android tablet, which has barcode scanners and a "bespoke design."

Ave Investments would not like you to know about its new iRegister, which "combines the iRegister and POS peripherals, the iPad, comprehensive Square application and electronic payments and the Square Card Reader into the world’s smallest, lowest cost, and greenest technology POS."

GlobZ, an iPhone game studio, would not like you to know that is "used Autodesk's user interface (UI) solution, Autodesk Scaleform middleware, to re-create the Flash-based game “TwinSpin” for the iOS platform."

Thuraya would not like you to know about "the most advanced dual mode handheld phone that features both GSM and satellite capabilities."

BroadJam would not like you to know about its "music social networking website."

Wright Express would not like you to know about Octane, its "free mobile app that includes the industry's first fuel site locator with up-to-date transaction-based fuel prices and text-to-speech capabilities."

Good luck, all of you, from the bottom of my heart.
