Ratter Just Let Its Editorial Staff Go

AJ Daulerio will stay on and retool the publication. The poop will go on, too.

Ratter, a collection of local news tabloids mostly famous for publishing pictures of poop on the streets of San Francisco, has laid off its editorial staff.

According to sources familiar, Ratter will not cease publication. A.J. Daulerio, the site's founder, will stay on with the publication, but none of the full-time editorial positions will remain. According to Daulerio, the site will be using freelancers moving forward.

The publication, which is distributed through Gawker's Kinja network, has only been live for about six months.

"Hopefully they will still continue to populate," Daulerio said regarding whether Ratter would continue to publish pictures of San Francisco poop.
