Santorum "I think the most important thing to do is look at what is going to have the most impact on the economy. As we saw in the 90s when we saw spending go up at very high rates we still had lowering deficits and then surpluses because of the dramatic growth of the economy. What we need to do when we look at an economic stimulus package is not look at what the cost is but what the impact will be on the economy. And you want job creation and job growth and you want the creation of new federal revenues as a result of that economic activity. I don't think we should look at it in terms of how much money it costs the federal treasury. You have to look at it in terms of what new jobs it's going to create, how much new revenue will flow to the federal government as result. The President's package is from my perspective what the doctor ordered. It's exactly right for investors. Which is important now to our economy since most of America is now invested in the market. Having consumer confidence go up because of you portfolios going up and spending going up all are now tied together. His balanced approach I think is the right approach at this point and I haven't seen the Democrats plan so I can't comment."
