Wells Fargo's CEO Apologized After Blaming The Bank's Lack Of Diversity On A "Limited Pool Of Black Talent"
"There is no question Wells Fargo has to make meaningful progress to increase diverse representation," Charles Scharf reportedly told employees in a memo.
"The dismissal was the result of Codel’s acting in a manner that was contrary to the company’s policies and expectations," the company said.
"Probably the greatest potential for confusion is people wondering what part of 'Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is' applies to Wells Fargo," according to the socially conscious firm Aspiration.
Following an expanded review, Wells Fargo said on Thursday it opened 1.4 million more "potentially unauthorized" accounts than was last reported.
