Follow My Finger
This turtle is really good at following fingers. I think he must have taken some Dramamine beforehand, because I'm a bit dizzy after watching this.
More Turtle Cheesecake
Once again, this is not a post about a tasty dessert with chocolate and pecans. I don't know what the hell this is, actually. Sexy turtle tank cleaning time? I've obviously been overdressed while maintaining mine.
How Not To Eat a Watermelon
This tortoise really loves to eat watermelon. But I think he's doing it wrong.
Turtle Back Flips
The aptly named "Tippy" the turtle can get up on her hind legs and do a backflip off the basking platform. I'm impressed.
The Flying Turtle Song
The Flying Turtle Song. Starring: Hank (The Tortoise)
The Squirturt
This one's for the Pokemon nerds. For those of you who clicked anyway, the Squirtle and the Turtwig are turtle-inspired Pokemon. This is a really cute mash-up of the two. Am I the only one who thinks it's a shame this can never happen in the game?
Hitching a Ride
I'm sure that bird is saying awesome pirate things like "ARRR" and "AVAST ME HEARTIES!" I mean, that's what I'd be doing.
Tortoise Does Not Want to Share
This tortoise wants a nap, and is willing to work the intimidation factor to make sure that he does not have to share his bed. It may seem kind of mean, but I hear that puppy snores and puts his cold paws all over you.
The End of the World
The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) created a video of images of the oil spill coupled with quotes from BP's CEO, Tony Hayward. With Skeeter Davis's The End of the World as a soundtrack, the end result is pretty disturbing. And depressing. (via seaturtle)
That Turtle Has a Suitcase
I also hope it has a good day.
Turtle Freak Out
Chelonaphobia is an extreme fear of turtles. This woman appears to have a really bad case of it. Unless you're a strawberry, you have little to fear from a box turtle.
Tortoise Loves Diet Coke
I have never wanted a Diet Coke so badly before.
The Story of Leonard and Lula
Lula is an 11 month old toddler, and Leonard is an African Leopard Tortoise. Despite their differences, they are the best of friends. And somehow, playing together magnifies their individual cute factor by a gazillion and two. (via Neatorama and Tortoiseblog.)
They're Not Called "Snappers" for Kicks
CBS news reporter Tony Aiello almost got his nose bitten by an angry snapping turtle. Here's a hint, Tony -- snappers don't like to be used as props. And it's usually not a good idea to hold them too close to your face! (via pi8you)
Turtle Frustrated by Apple
There are two reasons why I posted this. The first is strictly educational. Snappers enjoy apples. Now you know. But I also think this video bears a striking resemblance to the cover Nirvana's Nevermind. Sure, it's a turtle and an apple rather than a baby and dollar, but I know someone out there on the web is waiting to sync this to Smells Like Teen Spirit.
NOT SO LOUD
Gosh, that turtle's right next to you. You don't have to yell.
Turtle Turtle Turtle Turtles
The title is a grammatically correct phrase.
P-P-P-Platypus Likes T-T-T-Turtles
Sometimes memes that are nearing the end of their trip around the internet latch on to another bigger, better meme to try and make themselves popular again. At least, that's my explanation for this.
Snapping WTFery
This woman is annoyed that a snapping turtle moved into her swimming pool. She should give him a break! It obviously took a lot of effort to get there. That pool isn't the slightest bit turtle-accessible.
Wheel Turtle
Thinking of visiting North Dakota? Don't miss the Wheel Turtle. In 1982, George Gottbreht erected a gigantic sculpture of a turtle by recycling 2,000 steel wheel rims. Charmingly, the sculpture's head is capable of bobbing up and down. But if you can't make it out to Dunseith, you can take a virtual tour.
