Official: Defendant Kicks Water Pipe, Floods Courthouse

Authorities closed the Bergen County, N.J., Courthouse on Monday after a drug court defendant allegedly kicked and damaged a water pipe, spurring flooding that injured two people. Benjamin Blohm, 27, of New Milford, has been charged with criminal mischief and causing a disturbance that caused widespread injury, said County Sheriff Spokesman Richard Moriarty.

Doctors finally told the family the only way Riley would be able to survive was to amputate his entire left arm. Riley is now six-years-old, and a member of the Braves Tee Ball Team in Pearland, which at first wasn’t easy for him to do.

NH Store Clerk Reportedly Fired For Refusing EBT Customer Cigarettes

A store clerk in New Hampshire was reportedly fired after she refused to let a customer use his EBT card to purchase cigarettes. Jackie Whiton did not know people in New Hampshire could use EBT cards, government assistance funds, to buy things like beer and cigarettes, but she does now.  She wants New Hampshire to follow states like Massachusetts in cracking down on the use of the EBT cash option.
