Though Bob Dylan may be "America's Folk Singer" for rock journalists, many a songwriter would put John Prine right there with him. Prine is easily the most overlooked and underpaid living songwriter. But perhaps this is good, as his authenticity has remained untouched by hyperbole and annoying associations. In a way, I'm glad Rolling Stone tends to ignore much of what is truly great.
