Manuel Betancourt is a Los Angeles-based queer writer, critic, and a lapsed academic. His work has appeared in the New York Times, GQ Style, Los Angeles Times, Film Quarterly, and Vice, among others. He's the author of the 33 1/3 book on Judy at Carnegie Hall, and one of the co-authors of the graphic novel series, The Cardboard Kingdom, a New York Times Summer 2018 Pick.
