Canada Is Making Dinosaurs From Chicken Embryos

This is definitely a case where the chicken didn't come first. Hans Larsson, a research chair at McGill University, believes that, by flipping certain genetic "switches," he can create a new breed of animals that hypothetically resemble dinosaurs. Unfortunately, he also believes that a "dinosaur hatchery" is "too large an enterprise" to be financeable. Is this because of the whole velociraptors-had-feathers thing?

Hayao Miyazaki's Films As LEGOs

For BrickCon 2010, Iain Heath constructed many of Hayao Miyazaki's famous characters from his films entirely out of Lego. He even built a Japanese garden around them using real flora and fauna, and ultimately "Miyazakitopia" won in the "Big in Japan" category.

Pokemon Hover Hand

Pokédex 3D, unveiled at Nintendo's E3 convention yesterday, allows you to take photos with your Pokémon. Despite that they're supposedly your "best friend," this dude still looks a little nervous about it.

Incredible Photos Of The "Mothball Fleet"

In a bay thirty miles northeast of San Francisco lies several dozen retired Navy ships, which served in four wars. These "ghost ships" are slowly being scrapped one-by-one, and by 2017 they'll all be gone. Fortunately, photographer Scott Haefner and his friends sneaked past 24-hour patrols to photograph these heroic relics.

Exploring Gulliver's Kingdom, Japan

Named after Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels, this theme park 2.5 hours outside Tokyo was only open from 1997-2001, until it closed from lack of visitors. Before it was demolished in 2007, urban explorers crawled over every inch of it. Here's some of what they saw. (From Web Urbanist and Sleepy City, via.)

The World's Most Expensive Kebab

Chef Andy Bates has set the record for the world's most expensive kebab, at $1225. The "King of Kebabs" includes champagne-infused mint and cucumber yogurt, barrel aged ewe's milk feta cheese (obviously), coeur de boeuf, and--of course--edible gold leaf and platinum. If you wanna make it for yourself, check out the full list of ingredients.
