New Facebook Banner Will Ask You To Donate To Fight Ebola

The button will get rolled out starting Thursday. Mark Zuckerberg recently donated $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control.

Facebook will give users the option to donate to three charities fighting the Ebola epidemic beginning on Thursday.

A button will appear on top of people's news feeds giving them the option to contribute to the International Medical Corps, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Save the Children.

"The social media company is also deploying 100 satellite communication terminals to boost Internet and phone services to affected areas in West Africa, where the disease has killed nearly 5,000," the Associated Press reported.

In October, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said he donated $25 million to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to fight Ebola.
