Robbers Heist Millions In Jewels On French Highway

About 15 armed people hijacked two vans carrying million of euros worth of jewels.

More than a dozen armed robbers hijacked two vans and made off with millions of euros worth of jewels in a heist staged on a highway in France, the Associated Press reported.

The heist happened on the A6 highway in the Burgundy region, just south of Paris.

There were no injuries, and the AP reported:

The drivers of the two vans were left at the scene unharmed, a police official said. The perpetrators escaped in four cars and the two vans, which police found burned and abandoned in a forest near the site of the attack, the official said. The jewels remain missing.
