You Can Now Take Photos And Tweet Inside The White House

First Lady Michelle Obama lifted the ban on camera and social media use during public tours of the White House.

Michelle Obama lifted a more than 40-year-old ban on cameras and photos during public tours of the White House on Tuesday.

Visitors touring the White House can take photos and "keep those memories for a lifetime," the White House said in a statement.

The White House also encouraged visitors to share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #WhiteHouseTour.

However, "camera sticks" are not permitted during the tour. Neither is livestreaming, talking or texting on cellphones.
