20,000 Baby Chickens Die In Pennsylvania Barn Fire

The chicks were five weeks old, officials said.

Firefighters were forced to evacuate when the barn collapsed. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

"It's a lot of open area," Neversink Fire Chief Michael Nelson told WHP-TV. "You do have your dust, your feeds, you have your straw you put down and stuff. That's why it went as quick as it did."
