20,000 Baby Chickens Die In Pennsylvania Barn Fire

The chicks were five weeks old.

Around 20,000 baby chickens were killed in a massive central Pennsylvania barn fire early Tuesday, WHP-TV reported.

The fire broke out at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at a chicken house in North Cornwall Township in Lebanon County.

Officials estimated damage to be $500,000 including the chickens' value.

Around 40,000 baby chicks had died in another North Cornwall chicken house fire in March last year.
