Riots spread from Jerusalem throughout the country over the weekend, as rumors spread over the grisly murder of Palestinian teen Muhammed Abu Khudair. "If they killed him, they could kill any of our kids," said Abu Khudair's neigbor Yasser Amin.
A video of Abu Khudair's cousin, Tariq, being brutally beaten by Israeli officers, has fueled tensions further. Tariq Abu Khudair, 15, a dual Palestinian-American national, remains in police custody.
A second video, taken from a different angle, shows the masked Israeli officers more clearly. They can be seen continuing to hit the limp teen while carrying his body to a police van.
Photos have been posted by the family on Twitter showing Tariq before and after the beating.
Tariq's cousin, Muhammed Abu Khudair was abducted early Wednesday morning. His body was found several hours later, burned beyond recognition in the Jerusalem Forest. Israeli officials have said that his death was most likely a nationalistic act, carried out in revenge against the murders of three Israeli teens, whose bodies were buried on Tuesday after a 19-day manhunt that engulfed Israel's national dialogue.
The three Israeli teens, Nafatali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrah, were kidnapped on June 12 while hitchhiking in the West Bank. Israeli officials have said that they are still searching for two Palestinian suspects from Hebron, Marwan Qawashmeh, 29, and Amar Abu Aisha, 32.
