Saudi Prince Avoids Felony Charges In Beverly Hills Sex Assault Case

Los Angeles County prosecutors have declined to file felony charges against a 28-year-old Saudi prince accused of sexually assaulting a female worker at his upscale home.

Prosecutors have declined to file felony charges against a Saudi prince accused of sexually assaulting a female worker at a multi-million Beverly Hills home he was renting.

Majed Abdulaziz Al-Saud, 28, was arrested in September after police were called to the sprawling residence inside an exclusive gated community regarding a disturbance.

Officers responding to the call, which came in at 12:45 a.m., found "a large group of people" at the home, Los Angeles Police Officer Matthew Ludwig told BuzzFeed News.

The Los Angeles Times reported that neighbors saw a woman bleeding and screaming for help as she tried to climb an 8-foot wall around the home as police arrived.

Al-Saud was arrested and initially booked on suspicion of forced oral copulation, but was released after posting $300,000 bail, Ludwig said.

Los Angeles County prosecutors, however, declined to file felony charges and have referred the case to the city attorney's office for possible misdemeanor charges. A spokesman for the office, Frank Mateljan, told BuzzFeed News on Monday that the matter "is currently under review."

Al-Saud, meanwhile, has moved out of the $30-million, seven-bedroom mansion.

A civil lawsuit has also been filed on behalf of three alleged victims who claim Al-Saud attacked them inside the home.

Van Frish, they attorney representing the women who worked as general housekeepers or food servers, said he was dismayed by the district attorney's decision not to file felony charges.

Frish said he plans to file an amended complaint detailing "the somber and horrifying ordeal that our clients endured at the hands and direction of Mr. Al Saud."

Frish also pushed back against allegations that his clients are “trying to take advantage of a wealthy person,” saying it "could not be farther from the truth."

"Eventually, the whole truth will surface and Mr. Al Saud will have to bear the consequences of his despicable actions," Frish said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. "No one, including a member of the Royal Saudi family, should get away with this appalling behavior."

The attorney representing Al Saud could not immediately be reached.
