Colorado Gunman Posted Rambling Blog And Video Before Shooting

A gunman who killed three people in Colorado Saturday left behind a rambling blog and video where he spoke about religion and his father. Police said the shootings occurred across several blocks before he was confronted and killed near a Wendy's restaurant.

A gunman who killed three people along the streets of Colorado Springs left behind ramblings about religion and his father online, but no hint about what sparked the deadly shootings.

Noah Harpham was confronted and killed by police outside of a Wendy's Saturday, after authorities said he shot at people along a half-mile stretch of residential streets in the Colorado city.

Two days before the shooting, the Colorado man also posted a video and a blog post talking about religion and his father. The blog's only post titled, "Is my Dad in a Cult? Even Worse, Is It Satanic," is mostly angry ramblings about religion and a California church his father was a member of.

"I am attempting to present a case that shows the leader of this prestigious institution along with a select group of "rulers" are using mind-control techniques to poison and confuse legions of useful idiots," he wrote Thursday. "I know I'm reasoning against somebody that believes in Golden Jesus Unicorns as the solution for life, literally."

According to The Gazette, the 33-year-old man's mother wrote about his struggles with addiction in her book, "Sober mercies: how love caught up with a Christian Drunk."

In the book, she described his road to recovery from alcoholism as a possible miracle.

On Monday, Colorado Springs Police identified the victims as 35-year-old Andrew Alan Myers, 42-year-old Jennifer Michelle Vasquez and 34-year-old Christina Rose Baccus-Gallela.

The deadly shooting spree was first reported along the 200 block of North Prospect Street, officials said, where police were called about shots being fired along the residential street.

Tina Myers, Alan Myers' wife, told the Associated Press begged for his life before he was shot Saturday morning.

He had survived three tours of duty in Iraq before he was killed Saturday.

Officers responded to the area but found the suspect about half a mile away from the original call, according to the statement.

Witnesses told KKTV they saw a man on a shooting rampage just minutes before police arrived. The man reportedly was holding what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle and shooting at what seemed to be random people on the street.

Matt Abshire told the Colorado Springs Gazette he was watching from his apartment when he saw a man shoot another man with a rifle. Abshire followed the gunman on the street while calling police. He also heard more gunshots that appeared to have hit two women.

"She was dead," he told the paper.

When officers arrived, the man ran to a nearby Wendy's where another shooting ensued.

"The suspect fired multiple shots at the officers," the statement read. "The crime scene investigation covers multiple city blocks."

The officers involved in the shooting have not been identified. They were placed on administrative leave, officials said.

The shooting will be investigated by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
