French People Are Losing Their Shit Over This Photo Of Crêpes

"Sacre bleu! Quelle tragédie!"

Earlier this week, this photo was posted on Reddit, captioned, "A French colleague made crêpes today. English people are barbarians..."

In case you don't quite realize what's happening here, let's zoom in, shall we?

They cut into the stack of crêpes. Like it was a goddamn cake.

Crêpes are meant to be folded. Like this.

Also, the stack of crêpes were surrounded by jams and Nutella, which should have been a dead giveaway that it wasn't a cake. ALSO, LIKE, A CAKE IS SOLID WHILE A STACK OF CRÊPES IS NOT, LIKE, OH MY GOD.

Anyways, as the photo of this culinary tragedy spread online, French people reacted the only way they know how:

On Facebook, things were even more dire.

BuzzFeed France called it an international crime against crêpes.

Ceci est un crime international contre les crêpes https://t.co/6fCsC9pjzv

And French website Liberation called the photo a "massacre."

BuzzFeed has reached out to the original poster of the crêpe massacre, but hasn't heard back yet. The user did update the Reddit thread, explaining that it might not have been an English person, however.
