Dying 6-Year-Old Girl Gets Thousands Of Christmas Cards Thanks To Facebook

Doctors told Addie Fausett that she has less than a year to live — and now people from all over the world are making sure she has an unforgettable Christmas.

Addie Fausett is a 6-year-old girl from Fountain Green, Utah.

She’s been suffering from an undiagnosed illness that’s causing cerebral atrophy. Doctors say she has less than a year to live.

Addie’s grandmother came up with the idea of asking people from all over the world to send her Christmas cards.

"Grandma just wanted to be able to tell Addie she has a lot of friends," Addie's mother, Tami Fausett, told local reporters. "My mom wanted Addie to think she was really loved. It worked."

The Fausetts asked Facebook for help and, boy, did Facebook come through. They’re now getting Christmas cards by the thousands from all over the world.

"A card doesn't seem like a lot, but to Addie it is so much. It is amazing,” Tami told reporters.
