Inglewood Shooting Suspect Surrenders, Police Officer Hospitalized

The injured officer is in stable condition and the suspect has surrendered. His two female hostages are safe after an hours-long standoff.

Two police officers were shot on Wednesday afternoon on the corner of 108th Street and 5th Avenue in Inglewood, California.

The officers were responding to a domestic dispute and were shot at as they tried to enter the home.

The suspect barricaded himself inside the home with two hostages.

Only one officer was shot by a firearm, being hit in the chest while wearing a bulletproof vest. Another officer received a non-firearm related injury.

After several hours the suspect surrendered and law enforcement confirmed the two female hostages are now safe.
