Anthony Weiner Spokeswoman Apologizes For Calling Former Intern A "Slutbag"

"In a moment of frustration, I used inappropriate language in what I thought was an off-the-record conversation."

Anthony Weiner's spokeswoman, Barbara Morgan, apologized Tuesday night for comments made to a Talking Points Memo reporter about a former intern, whom she called a "slutbag" and threatened to sue.

"In a moment of frustration, I used inappropriate language in what I thought was an off-the-record conversation. It was wrong and I am very sorry, which is what I said tonight when I called and emailed Olivia to apologize," Morgan said in a statement emailed about an hour after TPM published its report.

Morgan also reportedly called Olivia Nuzzi, a intern on Weiner's mayoral campaign, a "bitch," "twat," and "cunt." Nuzzi appeared on the cover of the Daily News Tuesday morning for a story she wrote about what she described as her less-than-desirable experience working for the Weiner campaign earlier this year.

Morgan told TPM that Nuzzi's article was "bullshit."

While working on the campaign, which is still reeling from revelations last week that Weiner continued "sexting" until the summer of last year, Nuzzi worked directly under Morgan.
