The Kentucky Democrat implicated in the secret recording of a Mitch McConnell strategy session is out of work and looking for a journalism gig. Curtis Morrison, a former volunteer for the Kentucky Progress super PAC, wrote on his Facebook Friday that because he's not giving interviews yet, his cover letters open with an unconventional disclaimer: "This is off the record."
Morrison, a longtime liberal activist and writer in Kentucky, was let go from his reporting job with the website, Insider Louisville, after being accused by his former colleague at Progress Kentucky as the man responsible for the February bugging of the Senate Minority Leader's Kentucky campaign office.
To cover his legal fees, Morrison set up an online defense fund last week. He has already raised more than $2,000.
Morrison did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed's request for comment.
