Fox News Sets Up Shop In Tampa For The RNC

The network has rented out the entirety of the Tampa Bay Historical Center as their headquarters for the Republican convention.

Fox News is renting out an entire building for a week in Tampa to serve as its base of operation during the Republican National Convention, BuzzFeed has learned.

An employee at the Columbia Café, which is attached to the Tampa History Center in downtown Tampa, confirmed that the network — which wields huge influence in Republican politics — has booked the entire building for the duration of the convention.

"All we're doing here is we are pretty much the Fox station's headquarters," said staffer Dan Travina. "They've bought out the whole entire building."

"We are providing all their meals for the whole crew, all of it," Travina said.

A corporate representative declined to provide more details today, but a source tells BuzzFeed that the company expects to serve around 300 at breakfast every day, and 500-600 for dinner during the Fox stay. They declined to say how much Fox was spending on the rental.

A spokeswoman for Fox didn't immediately return a request for comment.

The 60,000 square foot Tampa History Center is located within little over a block of where the convention will be held.
