Chick-Fil-A Denies Making Fake Facebook Account

Allegations of PR fail "not true," says a spokeswoman.

A spokeswoman for Chick-Fil-A denied that the company had created fake accounts on Facebook to defend itself from criticism, contrary to reports that have circulated online.

"We have seen this and it is not true," spokeswoman Tiffany Greenway told BuzzFeed. "Chick-Fil-A has not created a separate or a false Facebook account. We don't know who created it."

Two Facebook accounts have been identified that appeared to exist solely to defend Chick-Fil-A after the company's president said he opposed the legalization of gay marriage. One has been deleted, and the other was "outed" when its profile picture turned out to be a stock photo of a random teenage girl.
