BuzzFeed Veepstakes: No Running-Mate Yet

Scrutiny of the VP contenders intensifies after Romney's announcement that the field remains wide open.

Welcome to BuzzFeed Veepstakes, your daily guide to Mitt Romney's search for a running mate.

Mitt Romney told Sean Hannity on Thursday night that no final decision has been made yet on a #2.

“We have a large number of qualified people, and so I have a very strong group of people that I can consider. There’s not a decision that’s finalized yet.

“The process has worked really well,” he added. “I have a good rapport with each of the people that we’re speaking with. I’m pretty confident that this process will go in a way that’s satisfactory to me and to the nation.”

ABC's Jon Karl is reporting that at least two contenders have been told to stand by for an announcement any day.

Ann Romney is still in Britain today. Rafalca Romney's next appearance at competition is August 7th.

Veep-picker Beth Myers was out on the campaign trail with Romney yesterday in Colorado. Romney will be in Las Vegas for an event this morning.
