A Boston Woman Went Viral After Filming A Hate-Rant Against Students

"Nobody likes you; you're a visitor here, an interloper."

While sitting in her car wearing sunglasses, Medford, Mass., resident Kim Costa filmed a quick video to give the influx of Boston students a piece of wisdom: Nobody likes them.

"Real quick reminder to all the college students that are coming back to Boston to further their higher education," she begins. "This is really important; this is something you are going to carry with you throughout your entire academic career in the 617 area code: nobody likes you."

Note: The video appears to have been taken down, but you can listen to the audio here about 40 seconds in.

Appearing to blow out smoke and sliding right over her R's, Costa makes clear her distaste for the roughly 100,000 students who flock to the New England city each fall.

"[P]eople like you will be contained to places like Lexington and Concord, where you can live, and wear Tevas, and recycle, and have a kid when you're 50 years old. And you know what, we probably wont like them either," she says.

And she's not messing around:

"I meant it, I grew up near Tufts, I worked in Davis Square for 10 years—these kids suck. They don't tip, and they're the ones flipping cars during the f****** World Series," she told Boston Magazine.

Here's the full rant:

Real quick reminder to all the college students coming back to Boston to continue their higher education. This is really important. This is something you are going to carry through your entire academic career in the 617 area code: nobody likes you, you're a visitor here; an interloper. I want you to keep that in mind when you're strutting through the crosswalk in Harvard Square with your pink popped collar and your fucking Banana Republic, date-rape slacks. You have been obsolete to me since my 21st birthday. No need for yah. I'm sure when you graduate you'll want to move here cause it's so awesome — and you're right, were awesome. But people like you will be contained to places like Lexington and Concord, where you can live, and wear Tevas, and recycle, and have a kid when you're 50 years old. And you know what, we probably wont like them either. And with that, welcome back.

The video has been shared over 5,000 times, going viral all over the Boston area on Wednesday and causing a divisive argument in the comments on Costa's Facebook, with many agreeing with her rant.

Costa originally defended herself in the comments, but eventually said she stopped looking at them.

"I'm referring to college students you brain donor not the Irish or the Italians get a grip," she said when someone asked how long she was a resident. "Why are you on here? whats wrong with you? Is Maury Povich over or something?"

One thing's for sure: This woman loves her city.
