The "Priceline Of Pot" Will Help You Find The Cheapest Weed Around

Provided you live in a state where marijuana is legal.

Posted on February 12, 2014, at 3:28 p.m. ET, a new website based in Seattle, is trying to help marijuana users get the most bang for their buck by offering price comparison shopping of weed dispensaries, much like offers for travel.

Founder Dan Nelson, who runs a banking blog, said he had an epiphany that the marijuana market could be compared, just like the hotel and airline industries.

"While pot is still in it's infancy, I thought it'd be a good time to get the price comparison party started," Nelson told BuzzFeed.

The site is in a "reverse auction" format, which means users can name their price and then browse the offers available in their area.

Wikileaf also helps users take advantage of low prices on marijuana from first-time shopper deals or clearances on older strains, which stores can have difficulty publicizing.

Visitors can also browse dozens of different strains of marijuana and learn about what kind of effects they have.

Nelson's next step is take the website mobile, and offer it through iPhone and Android apps.

Right now, the site shows offers just from medical dispensaries in Colorado, California, Washington and Oregon, but Nelson said they plan on expanding to recreational dispensaries soon.
