GPS mapping came at a hefty cost for one rogue Google mapping car in Indonesia.
The trip started off innocently enough: While collecting roadside data in a suburb of Jakarta, a worker accidentally rear-ended a minivan.
OK, no biggie. Like a good citizen, the driver of the Google car accompanied the minivan owner to the repair shop. That's when things took a turn toward the "Die Hard."
Instead of sticking around and waiting for the minivan to get assessed, the driver of the Google car had a better idea: Make a fast break for it. Too fast -- during his stealthy getaway he drove into a second minivan.
A. Second. Minivan.
With two hit-and-runs under his belt, the driver had nothing left to lose. He escaped the scene of the crime yet again, leaving the second smashed minivan to eat his Google dust.
That's when our little Sunday driver smashed his Google car right into that almighty force known as a truck.
The third time's a charm. The driver finally pried his fingers off of the steering wheel and let himself be taken in for police questioning and an investigation. He had a lot of 'splainin to do.
