President Obama On Bergdahl Swap: "This Is Something That I Would Do Again"

The president told NBC Friday that despite the controversy that has erupted, he stands by his decision to exchange five Taliban fighters for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

“When somebody wears our country's uniform and they're in a war theater and they're captured we're going to do everything we can to bring them home,” Obama said.

The president also defended the decision not to notify members of Congress before the prisoner exchange, saying: “We had to act fast in a delicate situation that required no publicity."

"This is something that I would do again, and I will continue to do wherever I have an opportunity, if I have a member of our military who's in captivity," he concluded.
