A Michigan mother accidentally killed her 1-year-old child on the morning of Christmas Eve, Fox 2 Detroit reported on Thursday.
The mother, who was not identified, did not see the baby girl when she backed up her car outside her home in Oak Park, a city in the northwestern suburbs of Detroit. The woman's three other children reportedly witnessed the accident.
The injured child was rushed to a local hospital, where over 40 members of the emergency medical staff tried to save her — but she succumbed to her injuries.
A spokesman with the Oak Park Police Department declined to comment to BuzzFeed News. A representative with the city government did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
