This Strange Metallic Blob Does Something Really Creepy

Like something out of a sci-fi movie, magnetic putty will eat other powerful magnets that are are directly in its path.

Magnetic putty actually looks and feels like regular, ole' boring, silly putty. But unlike silly putty, it's infused with iron particles.

That's because the silver cube is a rare and strong neodymium magnet that magnetizes the iron in the putty, which turns the putty into a temporary magnet.

The neodymium magnet is so powerful that it can actually erase magnetic strips in credit cards or ruin electronics. Even if you remove the magnet, the putty will still remain magnetized for a few more hours.

A neodymium magnet will even attract 100 pounds of magnetic putty.

I wouldn't recommend trying this out at home. But you can buy small amounts of the putty online if you want to experiment.
