Uber Investor Ashton Kutcher Approves Of Digging Up Dirt On Uber Critics

"What is so wrong about digging up dirt on shady journalist?"

Uber came under fire this week after BuzzFeed News reported that one of the company's executives suggested digging up dirt on a female journalist critical of the service. On Wednesday, one of Uber's more well-known backers weighed in:

What is so wrong about digging up dirt on shady journalist? @pando @TechCrunch @Uber

It didn't take long for Twitter to pounce.

Clearly @aplusk have gone off the deep end. Defending @Uber for violating their customers privacy.

I wish I wouldn't have seen that tweet. Ashton Kutcher is severely dumb and clueless.

forgot ashton kutcher exists, thanks for that twitter

Kutcher then went on a Twitterstorm, revealing his thoughts on the state of the media. (Note: Ashton Kutcher owns a media company.)

We are all public figures now! “@RussADeCastro: @aplusk Depends if they are a PUBLIC FIGURE, like you, or not. http://t.co/ZFemzZshxV”

I believe we live in a day were the first word has become "the word"

Rumors span the globe before anyone has an opportunity to defend them selves.

Everyone is guilty and then tasked to defend themselves publicly.

Questioning the source needs to happen... Always!

So as long as journalist are interested and willing to print half truths as facts... Yes we should question the source.

To be clear I speak for my self not @Uber

This should be fun... Here comes the part where journalist explain why they should be exempt from ridicule and judgement and probing...

Kutcher speaks as an investor in Uber. In 2011, he created the venture capital fund A-Grade Investments, which invests in the service.
