Boston Marathon Bombing Trial Date Set

The trial for accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is scheduled to begin Nov. 3.

A trial date has been set for the alleged Boston Marathon bomber.

A Massachusetts judge in U.S. District Court set Nov. 3, 2014, for the start date for the case against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Trial is expected to last 12 weeks.

The 20-year-old Tsarnaev is charged with carrying out a terrorist attack that killed three people and injured more than 260. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

The November 2014 date is far earlier than the September 2015 start that the defense was requesting.

Analysts expect that the start of the trial will inevitably be delayed to allow both sides enough time to prepare.

Judge tells govt that if it doesnt cooperate fully with turning over discovery to #tsarnaev, the 11/3 trial date could be pushed back

If judge forces #tsarnaev to trial b4 his lawyers are ready, judge would be creating a whopper of a legal issue on appeal if convicted.
