Team Mexico Fans Party On The Streets Of L.A. To Celebrate World Cup Win

The Los Angeles Police Department was on a citywide tactical alert late Monday evening as celebrating Mexican World Cup fans forced ramp closures on the 5 Freeway in Pacoima, Calif. Update: Police declare "a peaceful end to the unlawful assembly."

The LAPD tactical alert required officers citywide to remain on duty:

The crowds began forming in the streets shortly before 7 p.m. local time:

"Right now it doesn't seem like there's any major problem," Officer Drake Madison told the Los Angeles Times:

LAPD declared the crowd in Pacoima an unlawful assembly at 10:41 p.m. ET.

Police arrested at least four people after hundreds of fans took the streets in Huntington Park in a different celebration earlier in the evening:
