Twitter's head of news, Vivian Schiller, announced Wednesday she is stepping down from her position after less than a year at the social media company.
Schiller is another major departure as Twitter has substantially reorganized the company, with its chief operating officer Ali Rowghani leaving in June. Twitter's global media head Katie Stanton will be taking over, according to Schiller's tweet.
Schiller thanked Rowghani, as well as former media head Chloe Sladden, who also left the company. The company has reorganized to place former Google Maps head Daniel Graf at the head of product and Alex Roetter at the head of engineering. As part of the reorganization, previous communications and marketing head Gabriel Stricker is now head of media.

Twitter's reorganization came at a time when the company is trying to show Wall Street it can continue to grow. The company impressed investors in its last earnings report, showing re-ignited growth and impressive financial results. But the company needs to sustain that momentum in order to keep investors happy.
News, too, is part of that, as the company touts its distributed presence across the Internet as another strength for the company. Tweets during major events are often embedded in news stories across the internet.
A representative for Twitter had not responded to a BuzzFeed News request for comment at the time of publication.
