Josh Duggar Reportedly Confessed Three Times To Molesting His Sisters

According to a police report obtained by In Touch, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar waited at least 16 months before contacting authorities or getting their children professional counseling.

New details of Josh Duggar's molestation scandal emerged Wednesday, shedding light on how much his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, knew and for how long they allegedly waited to tell authorities.

According to a police report obtained by In Touch, the oldest son of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting told his father on three separate occasions about how he sexually molested his sisters. The Duggars waited at least 16 months before contacting authorities or getting their son or daughters professional counseling, according to the reports.

In the newly obtained report, Duggar, now 27, told his father of at least seven acts of sexual molestation against his sisters, starting when he was 14 years old.

“James said that in March of 2002 [Josh] who had just turned 14, came to him very upset and crying,” according to the report. “James said that [Josh] had told him that he had been sneaking into [his sisters’] room at night and had been touching [his sisters] on the breasts and vaginal areas while they were sleeping.”

The report went on to say that he molested several of his sisters, who were all "sleeping in a common room at this time."

When police began investigating Duggar, the statute of limitations had expired. The statute of limitations for the alleged crime in Arkansas is three years.

On May 21, In Touch published a 2006 police report that stated the eldest Duggar child had sexually abused five girls, four of whom were his sisters, when he was a teenager. Josh allegedly confessed to fondling the breasts and vaginal areas of the five girls while they were sleeping. In the report, the family told authorities Josh had been sent to counseling. However, the family matriarch, Michelle, later told the police Josh had in fact been sent to live with a family friend who had a home remodeling business.

Later on May 21, Josh resigned from his post as executive director of the Family Research Council Action and he, his wife, Anna, and his parents all issued statements about how Josh had acted "inexcusably" 12 years prior.

On May 22, TLC pulled the Duggars' show, 19 Kids and Counting, from its schedule. The network has yet to comment on the show's fate.
