3 Killed In Bomb Explosion Outside Iranian Ambassador's House In Yemen

The son of the ambassador's bodyguard is one of the victims of the attack. 17 people have been injured.

A suicide attacker drove a car loaded with explosives at the Iranian ambassador's house in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.

Security officials say as many as three people were killed in the attack, according to Reuters. The son of the ambassador's bodyguard is one of the victims, the Interior Ministry confirmed, adding that 17 people had been hurt.

Iran's ambassador to Yemen, Hossein Niknam, was not home at the time of the attack. He had already left for the embassy 10 minutes before the bombs exploded.

No-one immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion, though al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula have carried out similar attacks in Yemen. On Oct. 9, AQAP claimed responsibility for an attack at a checkpoint of the Shi'ite Muslim Houthi movement, which killed 47 people.
