Adrian Peterson Dropped By Nike

He has represented the brand since 2011.

ESPN reports Nike has dropped Vikings running back Adrian Peterson as a sponsor.

On Tuesday, Peterson pled no contest to a misdemeanor reckless assault charge.

Earlier today, the NFL announced Peterson's deal will be reviewed under the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

He is currently on the Exempt/Commissioner's List, and has been getting paid during his eight weeks of inactivity, but the NFL does not consider it a formal discipline. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport warns, "Suspension looms."

Thursday night, the NFLPA released a statement on Peterson:

Our union worked with the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian's representatives on a mutual agreement pending the adjudication of his legal case. Now that his legal matter is resolved, we believe it is Adrian's right to be treated in a manner that is consistent with similar cases under our collective bargaining agreement. We will pursue any and all remedies if those rights are breached.
