On Wednesday, reports surfaced online claiming that Britney Spears and Sam Asghari had split after one year of marriage.
The pair were together for roughly six years before tying the knot last summer in an intimate ceremony with their nearest and dearest. The wedding came shortly after Britney’s 13-year conservatorship was terminated. Under the tight legal arrangement, she claimed she wasn’t allowed to marry Sam; nor was she allowed to have kids with him.
TMZ reported Wednesday that Sam and Britney had an explosive argument after he allegedly approached her over cheating rumors. The outlet also claimed that Sam has already moved out of his and Britney’s home.
According to Entertainment Tonight, a source claimed that Britney is “adamant she didn’t cheat” on Sam. They alleged, “The two haven't got along for a while, and it finally came to an end after a major blowup.”
In the hours since the news of the apparent breakup broke, Britney was spotted without her famous diamond wedding ring on.
Paparazzi photos of the pop star driving around Los Angeles surfaced online, in which her left hand could clearly be seen free of any jewelry.
Not long after, Britney shared her first Instagram post since the divorce reports surfaced — though she made no reference to the apparent split.
Sharing a photo of herself riding a horse on a beach, Britney wrote, “Buying a horse soon 🐴 !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar 🐎 ??? I can’t make up my mind 🙈 !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on 😜 ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar.”
Later on, it was reported that Britney had hired high-powered divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
According to Page Six, which heard from an insider close to the singer, Sam had allegedly sought to change the terms of the prenuptial agreement that he and Britney signed.
When the pair got engaged, Sam clarified that he and Britney would be getting a prenup after fans — and celebrities — voiced their concerns over her estimated $60 million fortune.
